1. What Ted is
Ted is an AI-powered tech support assistant you interact with via email, operated by The Brooklyn App Company ("we," "us," "our"). Email Ted to ask tech questions, get help with confusing emails, identify scams, troubleshoot devices, or get plain-language explanations of technical topics.
Ted is AI-assisted. The helpfulness and personality are human-directed, but the responses and analysis are powered by artificial intelligence. Think of it as having a knowledgeable friend who's always available to help with tech questions.
2. Acceptance of terms
By emailing Ted or using our website at tedhelps.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
3. The service
Ted provides AI-powered tech support via email. The service is currently offered free of charge. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice.
We may introduce paid tiers, change pricing, or alter the feature set in the future. If we make changes that materially affect your use, we'll notify you via the email address you use with Ted.
4. Your account
To use Ted, you email ted@tedhelps.com. There are no passwords, logins, or traditional accounts. Your email address is your identity on the service. You're responsible for maintaining access to the email address you use with Ted.
You may forward emails, share screenshots, or describe technical issues during conversations. These are used to provide relevant technical support and maintain conversation context.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service
- Use an email address that is not yours
- Use automated systems to send messages in bulk
- Forward emails containing sensitive credentials, passwords, or financial information
- Redistribute or resell Ted's responses commercially without permission
6. Content and intellectual property
Ted generates technical guidance using AI. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful responses, we do not guarantee that all information is correct, complete, or current. Ted's responses are for informational purposes and should not be relied upon as professional IT, cybersecurity, or legal advice.
When you forward emails to Ted for analysis (e.g., to check if an email is a scam), the content of those emails is processed to provide you with a response. We do not store forwarded email content beyond what is needed for conversation context.
The Ted name, branding, and platform are owned by The Brooklyn App Company.
7. Email communication
Ted is an email-first product. By emailing Ted, you consent to receive email responses. Ted only responds to emails you send — we do not send unsolicited emails or newsletters.
To stop using Ted, simply stop emailing. If you'd like your data deleted, email support@thebkapp.co and we'll remove your information.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Ted is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content generated by the service.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Brooklyn App Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
10. Termination
You may stop using Ted at any time by ceasing to send emails. We may also suspend or terminate your access to the service at our discretion, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Brooklyn App Company, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of these terms or your misuse of the service.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you via email. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or the service shall be resolved in the courts located in Kings County, New York.
14. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
